How to Quickly Gain Experience In Starfield, reaching level 100 unlocks an achievement, which requires approximately 480,000 experience points. So how can you quickly gain experience? Below is a guide on how to level up quickly in Starfield, and I hope it helps you. Reaching level 100 requires a total of 479,326 experience points. Note that New Game+ does not provide XP bonuses, and in New Game+, all content has the same level and experience, so you can start leveling up in the first playthrough.
You can use console codes (cheat codes, PC only) to immediately reach the desired level, but you won’t be able to get achievements. Please refer to this complete list of console codes.
Early Experience Acquisition Methods In the early stages of the game, doing anything will earn you experience points. If you want to level up quickly in the early stages, it is recommended that you go to all star systems, fly to all planets, and scan all gas planets because these planets have nothing else to explore scientifically. You can get rewards immediately by scanning them once. Usually, going to planets/moons can earn 20 experience points, and scanning gas planets can earn 50 experience points (completion reward). The first time you go to a star system also earns extra experience points (there are a total of 111 star systems and over 1,000 planets/moons).
In addition, most experience points come from defeating enemies. The experience rewards for faction missions and miscellaneous tasks are minimal (mostly money), and the experience rewards for scanning flora and fauna are also minimal, so leveling up is slow.
Late-Game Fast Experience Method (1200+ every 4 minutes) This method involves attacking friendly ships, leaving only one ship alive and destroying its engine. Then quickly go to a base and return quickly to let the ship respawn. Repeat this step. Destroying each ship can earn a lot of experience points, and defeating crew members on ships can earn even more experience points. Using this method can earn about 1200 experience points every four minutes.
Note: This method is suitable for use when there are no more tasks left in the game process to reach level 100. You will receive a high bounty if you return to New Atlantis City, which may cause bankruptcy and imprisonment. The punishment is more severe than the experience gained through this method. The only solution is to start New Game+ directly after using this method so that the bounty will be lifted. Therefore, it is recommended that you use this method when you complete the game and remember to save manually first.
1. Set the game difficulty to the lowest level. Open settings and set the difficulty under game mode to very easy to speed up your experience gain.
2. Quickly teleport to “South Gate II Alpha Star System,” with landing point at “Eye” (next to Jamison Star).
3. There are usually one or two advanced UC Vanguard ships here, one level 30 Chimera ship and one level 32 Phalanx ship (slightly different).
4. Leave one ship (only destroy its engine) and destroy all other ships (the remaining ship should be attacked until its shield disappears, then lock on and enter aiming mode by pressing Xbox’s X key or PC’s R key, select ENG at the bottom of the screen, continue shooting at the engine until all gauges turn gray).
5. After destroying the engine, approach the ship with a scanner and press 【Xbox: LB→Hold X】, 【PC: F→Hold R】 within a few hundred meters for boarding prompt. It won’t appear if there are other ships present or if the engine hasn’t been destroyed yet.
6. Defeat all enemies on board as quickly as possible. It is recommended to use Weapon Split Point (Equinox), which can quickly defeat enemies without consuming too much ammunition. There are about 15 enemies on board with advanced crew members. Most enemies have armor and can earn 63 experience points per kill; a few enemies do not have armor and can earn 23 experience points per kill.
7. After defeating all enemies, quickly go to Jamison Star’s respawn point and then return to this landing point so that ships will respawn again. Repeat these steps.
Summary Defeating all crew members can earn about 1,000 experience points per ship; if two ships appear, destroying one of them can earn up to 276 experience points at most. Each time you can get about 1,200 experience points together on average; however, each time may vary slightly depending on whether there are many crew members on board or not. Sometimes there may be fewer crew members on board so that only about 1,000 experience points can be earned; however, on average it should reach or exceed 1,200 points. After getting used to it, it may take only three minutes to complete all steps.
When completing all other achievements, it is estimated that you can reach level 40. From level 40 to level 100 requires 410,570 experience points. If you earn an average of 1,200 experience points every four minutes, it will take approximately 23 hours to reach level 100.
In addition, you can also increase your experience points by eating food that provides them. For example, the alien tea that can be made at the base can provide an additional +2% experience points and lasts for 15 minutes. The disadvantage is that the increase is not significant and requires materials to make. When repeating the above steps several times, the bounty will also be very high and it is not suitable for appearing in cities. Therefore, if there is ready-made food available, you can eat it; otherwise, there is no need to force it.
If you find this method too boring, you can also try going to the next planet (the one with the main city), then destroy all ships (about 100-276 experience points depending on the ship level), and repeat this step. Boarding can also earn some experience points and clear some enemies who are relatively close by. However, this method requires a good ship that can be obtained by improving technology and combat or completing a series of tasks.
Infinite Experience Cheat Code Note: Using cheat codes will prevent you from getting achievements!
If you want to immediately reach level 100 (or higher), PC users can use console codes; Xbox cannot unlock them. Press the 【tilde/period key】 (located below ESC and to the left of number 1) on an English keyboard to open the console and then enter the command in the lower-left corner.
The command is 【player.setlevel 100】(without “【】”).
The number 100 can be replaced with any level you want to reach (such as 500), but you can only upgrade and not downgrade.
